Thirteen years to the day after he was acquitted of killing his wife and her friend, O.J. Simpson is finally paying for one of his crimes. Yes, I know this isn’t take two of the Nicole Brown Simpson/ Ron Goldman trial, but you can’t help but feel a wave of relief that he’s finally going to be pay for one of his crimes and that – albeit delayed – justice has finally been served. I know there’s been a lot of talk about fairness, about the jury selection (nine women, three men; all white), but I feel so proud of our country's justice system right now. I just can’t wait for sentencing on Dec. 5. Here’s hoping he never sees the free world again. It’s stunning that someone who literally got away with murder would be so cocky and so arrogant as to risk going to jail by attempting to rob someone at gun point. That murder trial was such a hellish time in this city - and country - and I'm just so happy to see him having to face the repercussions of his actions.

I'm avoiding all comments and friends' posts until after I see "The Office," which I'm currently waiting on Tammy for. I can't blame her, though; I was trying to stay up all day yesterday to get on a good schedule and ended up crashing at 6 p.m. SO CLOSE. So I missed the season premiere and slept til 4 a.m. and have spent the past four-and-a-half hours avoiding most of the Internet and burning a hole in my DVR with my stare. IT'S ON THERE. An entire hour of Office goodiness and I can't watch it. GET HERE NOW, TAMMY.

In the mean time, look at this neat-o map thing I found. I had some lolz at the pattern my visited states make. I bet you can't tell what two states I live in. It's not like EVERY state in between is filled in. I didn't include states that I just zipped through without getting to take them in, nor states I went to when I was too young to really remember them. And this is what I'm left with:

Of those that I've visited, Oklahoma and Utah have to be two of my favorite states. My least favorite is Texas. My god, there are bugs everywhere! I'm sure it's just a mid-August thing, but I felt like I was either going to be eaten alive or so many were going to crawl on me I'd collapse under the weight and be crushed to death - Oh, I've seen "Scorpion King," don't think I don't know that's possible. I also wouldn't recommend Ohio to anyone who doesn't want to be bored to death. There's a reason I don't live there anymore.

Since I've got the mid-section of the country - the belly, if you will - I really need to work on covering some of those itty bitty East Coast states, those giant northern ones and the [insert adjective here] southern ones.
